Problem:
Some users may encounter an issue when trying to add an embed code in the CreatEcards Canva App. After pasting the embed code, a warning message appears stating, “Please enter HTML embed code” in red, and you are unable to proceed further.
This is a temporary bug with the Canva integration, and we’re actively working on a solution. In the meantime, there is a simple workaround to get your embeds working correctly.
Solution:
To fix this issue, we’ve created a helpful video tutorial that walks you through the process step-by-step.
If you prefer written instructions, here’s how to resolve the issue manually:
Step-by-Step Workaround for Adding Embeds in CreatEcards:
1. Disable Video, Music, and Animations:
•While in the CreatEcards Canva App, toggle off the “Enable video, music, and animations” option.
•This will allow you to click Continue without the embed code error.
2. Proceed to CreatEcards Website:
•Complete the setup in the Canva App and continue until you are editing your eCard/Invitation on the CreatEcards website.
3. Add Your Embed Code on the CreatEcards Website:
•On the CreatEcards site, click on Edit your eCard to open the customization options.
•Expand the section titled “Add Canva Video and Sounds.”
•Switch the “Video and Animations” toggle to ON.
4. Paste Your Embed Code:
•Now, paste the same HTML embed code from your Canva design into the provided field.
Your embed code should now work seamlessly, allowing your video or slideshow to be part of your CreatEcard.
Note:
This is a temporary workaround. We’re working hard to resolve this bug so that the embed experience will function directly within the CreatEcards Canva App soon. Thank you for your patience!
